Rain can ruin your vacation. Even on rainy days, we want you to be able to walk around the amazing Jigokudani (Hell Valley) and the exciting ONSEN resort.
The umbrellas are available free of charge from our partner stores around the Noboribetsu Onsen Resort. Feel free to use one whenever you need it if you forget your own umbrella.
When you have finished using the umbrella, you can return it to your hotel or any of our partner stores.
You don’t have to return it to the place where you borrowed it. This is a free umbrella that can be used by both overnight guests and one-day visitors.
Where can I borrow an umbrella?
The umbrellas are available at 50 locations in Noboribetsu Onsen Resort, including tourist information centers, hotels, souvenir stores, Noboribetsu Bear Park, Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura, and JR Noboribetsu Station for you to use.
Can I bring them home? Are they available for sale?
These umbrellas are for use in case of sudden rain during your stay in Noboribetsu, and are available for everyone to use. Therefore, you cannot take them home with you, and they are not for sale. The umbrellas have an adorable demon printed on them, so you are free to take pictures with them to remember your trip.
