Daimoku Stone

This is a natural stone on which the Buddhist priest Nisshin Shonin, who founded Myoeiji Temple in Date City in 1871, wrote a Buddhist mantra in ink. In the old days, when water was poured on it, the words “Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo” (I embrace to the teachings of the Lotus Sutra) would appear.
