Mashiho Chiri monument

This monument commemorates Mashiho Chiri, a native of Noboribetsu. He was a researcher of Ainu culture who served as a professor at the Faculty of Literature of Hokkaido University, and wrote several famous books, including Bunrui Ainugo Jiten (Dictionary of the Ainu Language).
