Noboribetsu Primitive Forest

In 1924, the area around Jigokudani was designated as a national natural monument. Around 60 kinds of trees and 110 kinds of plants are preserved in the primeval forest. A walking trail has been established and visitors can see giant trees such as Japanese oak.
